I still like panel 5, I think it shows the desperation pretty well. In the final I went with a back shot where he’s fighting to make it a bit less personal since we do see his face a lot, but this was also a viable option.
This is the actual first page of The Meek I ever drew. I literally just sat down and started drawing it without any idea of where it was going or what I was doing on a whim one night. Then never stopped. Making a comic you care about gives you a rush that you feel like you need to keep experiencing, even when it costs a lot to get it. It’s like being addicted to crack, except your family is only slightly less ashamed of you.
